Did you ever try to use your X52 without the Saitek driver and tried to configure it through your flightsim? Yes I tried, windows installed the driver automaticly with a succesful message.
I can see the different setting possibilities via windows, but the stick doesn't accept those and the buttons didn't react. I already have removed all Saitek Software and reboot, but windows installed this driver from and the stick still doesn't work. Thats right Mathijs I thought the same and I already contact Saitek last week.
Today they wrote because the x52 works on my old pc they can't help me now :- Thats the reason I start this thread and hope, someone have an idea. The hint to try an older driver and to disconnect the pc from the internet were new to me. So after the usual procedure of deleting rebooting etc I start the old driver, and after connecting the x52, all buttons and the LCD were on and I was able to change the settings via windows. I can't believe it, but its done!! And I'm, too. Yes the new hardware, not the MadCatz driver which is not able do handle new hardware.
By the way I noticed the announcement of the new Saitek X It looks nice, too! The current driver is from I am pretty sure the Saitek support said or at least meant to say that there are certain Intel chipset combinations known for causing this problem and of course not all Intel chipsets in general. Yes thats right Tom, they said the problem is with this Mainboard with a Z Chipset only.
My old board had an Intel Chipset, too and the stick works fine after the correct installing procedure of course. Maybe they didn't adjust the driver for this chipset yet But he also said I could try to change from Win7 to 10 which could probably help, but at this point i'm not sure if I want to change now As far as I can see that's a X55 with more colors. I also had a look yesterday. The game recognizes the X52 Pro as I think I finally overcame the issues with loading the Saitek drivers in Windows I recently purchased an Occulus Rift and using the X52 Pro is about the only way to fly using a VR headset, as you need to be able to execute functions pretty much by feel--mouse and keyboard are impossible.
I can get my Xbox controller to work but that's a miserable experience trying to fly and especially land with that thing! I have tried various things with "Big Picture" which also recognizes my X Pro trying to run the game not using Steam VR but rather launching it normally and them going into Occulus and selecting it, but nothing will get my X52 Pro to actually function in game.
I have read most if not all of the threads on X52 issues and have tried many of those solutions--am getting pretty frustrated as I bought Occulus pretty much for this game.
Have asked Logitech--who now owns Saitek apparently--for assistance, but that's been like barking at the moon. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Showing 1 - 15 of 20 comments. I did download the Logitech drivers, but could not get the install program to work and their workaround, which I did get to work for the Saitek drivers would not work for theirs for some reason.
Make sure that the game's window on your regular monitor is the active one - move and click a mouse over it to be sure. The game might not take joystick commands if its window is not in foreground. At least that's how it works here, on my win 7.
