Bristol university badock hall handbook

Badock Bar is a good place to socialise with other students, particularly because the drinks are so cheap. There was also lots of green space to sit out in the summer and socialise in again!

Great room good size and recently renovated Great social experience everyone is very friendly and sociable Location okay but bus links are very good so easier to get everywhere Good facilities but badock gym could be improved and get lights in the jubilee building. Living in Badock Hall is a far better experience than I could have anticipated.

The rooms are recently refurbished, so are modern and clean, and are surprisingly spacious compared to my initial thoughts. Having been given the nickname 'K-dock', the residence really lives up to its name in terms of its sociable nature and tendency for after parties. If you're keen to escape the main city, Stoke bishop is the place to go as it's a 20 minute bus ride to the Uni and acts as it's own little village. A few complaints would include the fact that there are only 7 washing machines between however many hundred students, paired with Stoke Bishop's inability to come up with an efficient postage system.

Also, some sort of social space to chill would be much appreciated, as the kitchen gets pretty disgusting after a good night and an area not covered in spilt alcohol would be lovely!

I do, however, have to credit the food, which is not as terrible as expected, and I am very grateful for the fact that self catered students are able to pay for meals when we don't feel like cooking! Far from centre, but lovely walk and quiet area.

Lively residence, friendly. Buildings old but functional, good showers and heating. Great location in Stoke Bishop where most first years live, about 15 mins bus from the main uni campus U1 is good and reliable. Awful value for money, my room was falling apart- drawers wouldn't open, tap leaked, chairs were broken, wardrobe wouldn't shut, mattress had a slit in and the windows had mould. The food was grim and all year I was surrounded by snobby kids. Hated Badock no lie!

Last few rooms remaining! Student Roost has saved you a room - book today! Brand new student accommodation in Bristol. It's more than a room - make memories for life in Bristol with student townhouses to call home.

Alright sized rooms but only single beds in the catered area. Don't come here if you're looking to focus on study and get much sleep bc thats not going to happen. Amazing people and non-stop parties. Stoke Bishop is great and you'll have the time of your life. The rooms are spacious but outdated.

Mould can be seen around, as well as suspicious stains on the carpet. Catered blocks haven't been refurbished in a very long time. The shared bathrooms were poorly designed 3 sinks, 2 showers, 1 toilet Heating works based on a motion sensor, it's very cold when you wake up in the winter Breakfast food is alright, dinner food not so much. Meat is often under or overcooked, vegetables and salad isn't tasty.

Meal times aren't very convenient breakfast from to 9 on weekdays, dinner from 6 to Diner is usually a nice moment to socialise and chill, but this does not make up for all the rest. Staff is really nice but reception desk is often closed. Communal spaces are very old, equipment is broken, tennis courts are left unmaintained. Fire alarms frequently run off in the night, be prepared for that.

Badock self-catered, is a different story. The flats are newly built, you get a double bed, a really spacious room thats modernly furnished. Also there is a community feel for each unit and you get to know the other floors really well. Value for money wise, considering its Bristol, I think is really good, you are not paying for an over fancy old building thats hard to heat like you are with wills. I have loved my time in Badock self-catered and would choose it again in a heart beat!

Shocking lack of care for the buildings- dirty rubbish area not cleaned properly, old rooms with drab furniture, flimsy locks, grim lack of care. All for the ridiculously expensive package with food that is a complete rip off.
